I am directed to inform you that the building presented

to the Colony by your father as a Reformatory for boys, has for

some years past been used as a Branch Prison, since it was found that there were no boys sent to it by the Magistrates, and it was

therefore useless for original purpose and had become merely an

incubus on the Colony.
